The Energy Smart Mediterranean Schools Network project (ESMES), is part of the ENI CBC Med Programme and focuses on the optimization of energy consumption in public schools through innovative, monitoring-based renewable energy and energy efficiency (REEE) pilot actions.

Activity 1: Installation of Smart Energy Meters in Public Schools
As ESMES will focus on the optimization of energy consumption in public schools through innovative, monitoring based renewable energy and energy efficiency (REEE) pilot actions, Activity 1 is related to the installation of Energy Monitoring Equipment which includes all related hardware, infrastructure upgrade and software.
Electrical data will be collected from up to seven (7) schools in Lebanon and thirty-four (34) schools in total in the five (5) partner countries. The data will be automatically collected, stored, processed and published on an online platform that is being developed by GJU in Jordan.

Events
ESMES Kick-Off Event in Jordan – November 27th, 2020
The German Jordanian University (GJU) in Jordan hosted the kick-off meeting of ESMES Project on November 27th 2019. The event was the first official meeting of ESMES, offering an opportunity for project partners to meet and discuss the project work plan and duties.
Energy Hub Event in Lebanon – June 25th, 2020
The objective of the National Energy National Hub event is to provide a room for knowledge exchange and cooperation among stakeholders and decision makers to develop relevant case studies, strategies, and guidelines for sustainable energy measures in public schools' rehabilitations.
The First Energy Hub event in Lebanon took place online on June 25th, 2020. It aimed at introducing ESMES activities to local stakeholders and discussing their potential role in the project development.
