Wind Farms- Round 2 Bid

Following the signature of three power purchase agreements between the Ministry of Energy and Water and three private sector developers in 2018, the Ministry of Energy and Water launched during the International Beirut Energy Forum in September 2019 a request for proposals (RFP) to procure up to 520 MW of wind farms based on the same concept of the first round of wind energy bids. The private sector will be responsible for the development of all the project including the authorizations, the choice of the lands, and the connection to the grid.

The objective of this project is to add to the total installed capacity of wind energy and bring the national energy mix a step closer to the renewable energy targets.
