As part of the continuous efforts to promote energy efficiency measures in Lebanon, the LCEC has joined a new project called Cool Up, which is funded by the “International Climate Initiative” in Germany and includes a large number of partners from Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon.
In the context of scaling up sustainable cooling in Lebanon and promoting accelerated technological change in cooling demand reduction and early implementation of the Kigali amendment and Paris agreement, LCEC is organizing its first workshop for the policy thematic group on 13 July 2021.
Within the workshop, market and technological insights about the cooling sector will be introduced for the first time followed by deep analysis of potential interventions on the policy level to reduce cooling demand, accelerate HFC phase down, promote uptake of RES/EE refrigeration and cooling (R&C) in residential and commercial sector and to ensure safe disposal of equipment and refrigerants.
